Breaking Barriers,
Building Futures.
Cama Women Plumbers Network was founded to give women not just a seat at the table of Uganda's construction industry but the tools, certification, and platform to lead it.
From Materials
to Movement
Our journey began with the simple goal of reselling plumbing materials to the community. As we identified the challenges women faced entering this male-dominated field, we pivoted creating a platform that provides women with tools, training, and opportunity.
Today, our 25-strong team of certified women plumbers operates across residential, commercial, and institutional projects from individual home repairs to national WASH infrastructure.
The Beginning
Started by reselling plumbing materials. Quickly identified a critical gap women were excluded from the professional practice of plumbing itself.
The Pivot to Training
Created structured training programs to certify women as professional plumbers hands-on, practical, and UBTEC-accredited.
Building the Network
Grew to 25 certified plumbers. Secured 6 national and international certifications. Featured on Bukedde TV and Spark TV Uganda.
Recognition & Awards
Women in Construction Excellence Award (2023), Top 100 SMEs Finalist (2022), UN Women Empowerment Nomination East Africa.
